440 words about how I got here…starting now.
I would love to say that I have been doing this for years and photography was passed down to me through generations of photographers before me….but it wasn’t. My first recollection of cameras was playing with my Grandfathers broken Nikon and Minolta cameras in the living room. He wasn’t a serious photographer at all, but he had gotten them and used them a hand full of times and sat on a shelf until they made their way into my toy box…(I know..weird thing for a 9-year-old to play with). So…yeah…that was the extent of my earliest memories into photography, not taking pictures but playing with metal cameras in my grandparents living room…
Okay, really quick…Born in 1985 in Cheyenne, WY. Moved to Orlando, FL when I was 2. Moved to Clermont when I was 13. Graduated South Lake High School in 2003. Went to the Bethany College/University of Kansas on a golf scholarship (ask me about that later), went to Stanford for a year and came back to Orlando. Got a job at Apple in 2008 and I’ll pick it up from here. Still with me? Good..almost done...
Working at Apple inspired the hell out of me, working with these fantastic minded people 40 hours a week and they all had these passions mostly in the artistic side of the house. Then the iPhone popped into my hand..and along with it came…”drum roll” please….Instagram…a place that you could share your photos and what you were doing and receive love and feedback for it…So I hung out with other photographers even though I only had my iPhone and soon after that I dove in with my first camera, The Nikon D5100. I won’t bore you with filler crap, but I learned very quickly that I could get back into competitive sports through photography. I mean the majority of my friends and myself included wanted to play professional sports but the last I checked…Overweight and 6’1 with good hand-eye coordination wasn’t exactly in high demand in the professional sports arena. I was able to partner with a local newspaper/magazine, and the world was my oyster…okay so it wasn’t exactly that easy but if you want to know more…hit me up, and I would love to share my story some more. But if you don’t care, lol, then click out of this and just look at my photos, that’s all I could ever ask for. Thanks to everyone who read this far cause that just might mean that you are somewhat interested in me and what I do or how I do it! Okay, I gotta go shoot,
Happy Shooting!
